Thanks for your interest in our lab! We focus on basic questions about biodiversity and biological invasion, specifically how species invasion and extinction influence the biodiversity maintenance and community restoration. Our research organisms include: plants, bacteria, fungi and algae in diverse ecosystems (i.e., forests, grasslands, islands, cropland, and microcosms). We are always looking for motivated graduate students, postdocs, and research scientists to join our lab. If you are interested in working on biodiversity and invasion, please email Dr. Shaopeng Li (firstname.lastname@example.org). I view the advisor-student relationship as special and collaborative. My goal is to get students well versed in the fundamental principles of ecology, give them advice in primary research, and maximize their chance of making a novel contribution to science. I expect my lab members share an interest in some basic questions, but it is not necessary to work with me on the same systems.
